MCB2 – Second Mediterranean Congress on Biotechnology in Hammamet, Tunisia – March 16th -20th, 2019

The 2nd Mediterranean Congress of Biotechnology (MCB2) has been held in Hammamet -Tunisia on March 16th – 20th, 2019. This event gathered more than 250 attendees mainly scientists and researchers coming from 8 countries, working in biotechnology fields in order to present and share their latest scientific and technological developments. It aims to give opportunities to discuss and to initiate or consolidate Euro Mediterranean collaborations and to explore means to promote multilateral partnership within the Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA initiative, https://ec.europa.eu/research) in biotechnology.

The main topics for this new edition were related to yellow, white, red, blue and green biotechnologies (5 plenary conferences, 166 oral communications and more than 300 posters).

Considering IPM-4-Citrus, Pr. Slim TOUNSI, head of the Biopesticides Laboratory in the CBS, has presented a poster summarizing the main activities and realizations within IPM-4-Citrus project and also Dr Nouha ABDELMALEK, Research Engineer from Laboratoires Medis, has presented an oral presentation entitled “Monitoring of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) growth and sporulation: exploration and comparison of on-line and off-line measurements”.
