IDB2018 – International Days of Biotechnology in Sousse, Tunisia

The 17th International Days of Biotechnology (IDB2018) of the Tunisian Association of Biotechnology (A.T.Biotech.) have been held on December 20th 23rd 2018, at Sousse- Tunisia and gathered more than 120 attendees between scientists and researchers (3 -day conferences including 9 Plenary conferences and 73 oral communications and posters).

The main Topics were related to:

  • Industrial Biotechnology : Enzymes, microorganisms, metagenomics and bioprocesses.
  • Environmental Biotechnology : Waste treatment and recovery, bioremediation, bioenergy and phytoremediation.
  • Plant Biotechnology: Genetic diversity, environmental constraints and plant improvement, and plant-microorganism interaction.
  • Health Biotechnologies  : Vaccines and diagnostics.
  • Bioactive Molecules and applications.

Considering IPM-4-Citrus, a plenary conference has been presented by Pr. Souad ROUIS from CBS (Sfax, Tunisia) on Thursday 20 th. Dec entitled “How can technology transfer from Lab to Market push companies for open innovation” and also a business case “Bt based Biopesticide Valorisation:”From Lab to Market”.
