March 2019, nearly 120 people from Civil Society gathered at host institution
and project partner University of Saint-Joseph, in Beirut, Lebanon, to attend
IPM-4-CITRUS H2020 funded project 3rd Round Table about the
acceptability of Biopesticides.
The Round Table kicked in with the now traditional “Ice-breaker” game around Biopesticide and a serie of presentations by 3 Lebanese experts:
- Mrs. Pauline EID – Agriculture Engineer at the Plant Protection Department – Coordinator of the organic agriculture technical committee, Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture – Lebanon “Organic Agriculture in Lebanon”
- Eng. Mohammad Abu Zeid – Director of plant resources, Ministry of Agriculture “Biopesticide registration in Lebanon”
- Mr. Jad DANDASH Agricultural Economist & Consultant, Freelance “Eco-Librium”
Those speeches gave a better insight of the Lebanese view and positioning around Biopesticides, Organic Agriculture but also Market regulations and enabled to nurture the main round table exchanges and project presentation. The high-quality of the debates and questions raised, as well as the huge number of attendees again demonstrate that the IPM-4-CITRUS project is targeting a hot topic, contributing to increase stakeholder’s awareness.
